Roland S-7x
to Akai/Pulsar/MESA Translation
Heres the equivalent terms:
| Disk | Disk |
| Volume | Partition (sort of) |
| Performance | Volume (represented by a Multi within - S3000 series only) |
| Patch | Program |
| Partial | Keygroup |
| Sample | Sample |
If you drop a Roland Performance on a Akai Partition, Translator will make the Volume for you based on the Performance, translate all the Patches to Programs (and Samples to Samples), and if set to S-3000 series, creates a Multi file that represents the Roland Performance. For Multis, The first 16 Performance Parts are translated to the 16 Akai channels.
A Roland Patch is very similar to an Akai Program; thus all Roland Patches are converted into a single program.
Each Akai Keygroup is translated directly from the Roland Partial object. Zones contain each Sample used in the partial.
Programs and Samples are named with the first 12 Akai-legal characters in the Roland name. Translator properly writes the Roland dash (-, ASCii letter 127) as a real Akai dash (especially regarding dual mono - stereo sample names, e.g. -L and -R). Some Akai sampler models translate the dash correctly.
